πŸ’¬ Hi my name is trainer name, and I would like to give you a short introduction on my favorite hot drink: tea

πŸ’¬ As you might now, there are a lot of different teas. And by the end of my 3 min training, you can distinguish two of the most popular types of tea along with some background information.

πŸ‘ͺ To get us in the mood for tea, I would like to know: What is your favorite tea?

:book: Slide 2

πŸ’¬ LetΒ΄s have a look: Is your favorite tea, actually a tea?

πŸ’¬ Real tea is made exclusively from the leaves of one plant: camellia sinensis

πŸ’¬ All other β€œTeas” are actually infusions, for example chamomile tea, is made from chamomile flowers shown in this picture

:book: Slide 3

πŸ’¬ Only one plant β†’ you might think that every tea tastes the same then, right?

🍡 I brought two different beverages made from the camellia sinensis leaves for you: try them and see, if you think they taste the same

🍡 What do you taste? Can you tell the difference? Do you maybe already know what is in these two glasses?

πŸ’¬ Why do they taste different?

πŸ’¬ If you take the fresh leaves and dry them carefully, without breaking the leaves: green tea

πŸ’¬ On the other hand: If you take the fresh leaves and crush them (for example by rolling) you get black tea

πŸ’¬ Why? By breaking up the cell walls, all the different molecules that usually stay separated get mixed together and some enzymes can alter the taste of some molecules β†’ scientific explanation for the different taste is oxidation

πŸ‘ͺ Feedback round: Do you now feel confident to tell the two most famous teas apart?
